Gullah Museum of Hilton Head

We were invited to facilitate a listening session of “SEEKING|SOARING: Gullah Resilience Songs” for the Gullah Summer Camp. Youth from the Boys & Girls Club of Bluffton and Hilton Head attended and were able to learn about the importance of water to Gullah Geehcee Communities and elements of language through the song “BEENYA BINYA”. They walked away making personalized gift bags using Adinkra Symbols to carry copies of the CD they were given at the end of the workshop.
